It may not be as angry as the Mr. Show commercials but very effective nonetheless. Here's a guerrilla-style marketing tactic from a company we all know and love. It takes a little bit of time to get going but trust me it's worth the wait. It is in French so dust off your berets before watching this.

Super Bowl Ads - Will Ferrell & Doritos

I know, I know, we've all seen them by now...but if you haven't, you can catch the Superbowl Commercials at the link (they also have their 10 Best 2012 Commercials and 5 Worst Commercials).

On this site, however, let's focus on a few more obscure commercials:

Will Ferrell continued his middle America-Old Milwaukee campaign this time at North Platte, Nebraska. You can see his old Old Milwaukee commercials at the link.

I also mentioned the Doritos "Crash The Superbowl" contest and so here are the top two winners. The "Man's Best Friend" ad was the winner with the "Sling Baby" coming in second.


They were pretty good, but I still like this rejected Doritos commercial that did not make finals.

WALK OF SHAME Shuttle Service

A student at the University of Michigan with an entrepreneurial spirit recently opened up her own business to other students: A WALK OF SHAME SHUTTLE. Yes this is real and actually a pretty good idea, although she should probably charge more. 


For $5 she offers a ride to anywhere in Ann Arbor in her mom's van where not only do you get a loving environment free of judgment, you also get a: free bottle of water, a $5 off Plan B coupon, and a high five. That coupon alone pays for the whole thing!

By the way, if you are wondering: "what is the walk of shame?" First of all, good for you for not having to participate in this embarrassingly public display of your poor choices, and two, for everyone else it is a hilarious sight to see so try and catch it Saturday or Sunday morning/early afternoon. The day after Halloween is an especially exciting day.

Finally, a pair of pants I can wear to the bar AND deliver roundhouse kicks to the face in while at that bar!

Doritos - Make Your Own (Commercial)

For the past few years, Doritos has had a contest called Crash The Super Bowl where people can send their own self-produced commercials and the winners get their commercial broadcasted during the Super Bowl game. The contest continues again this year but they are also supported by The Lonely Island boys, responsible for some of the funniest songs/music videos of the past five years.

The video above is a hilarious entry that unfortunately did not make it to the finals.

Will Ferrell and Old Milwaukee

America's favourite buffoon traveled to its heart in order to sell some good ol' fashioned Old Milwaukee, the BARGAIN brand of Pabst Blue Ribbon. It doesn't get any better than this.

In the video above, Mr. Ferrell traveled to Davenport, Iowa for this commercial and a few other ones. He also shot a few commercials in Terre Haute, Indiana which can be found below.

This 11HP/29" Snowblower was for sale in Moncton. The Kijiji ad for this monster was so popular that it attracted over 450 000 views and made it to popular news outlets like the CBC, or Sympatico.ca.
